Expanding Sustainable Housing Solutions Across Africa
Phioneers develops projects designed to address housing challenges through innovative and sustainable development models.
DWLBL Communities — Senegal
DWLBL communities combine climate-smart housing design with renewable energy systems and community-centered planning.
The first pilot community in Senegal will demonstrate how sustainable housing clusters can be built using local materials and local labour.
This model is designed to be replicated across multiple communities in Africa.
Cocoa Houses — Ivory Coast
Cocoa Houses is a housing initiative designed to provide affordable housing through rent-to-buy schemes for individuals and families who do not have access to traditional banking or mortgage systems.
The project aims to support communities connected to agricultural economies, including cocoa farming regions, by providing a pathway to home ownership.
Key features include:
Affordable housing development
Rent-to-own housing schemes
Access to housing for underserved communities
Support for local economic development
Cocoa Houses aims to demonstrate how housing solutions can be structured to support families who are excluded from traditional financial systems while building stable communities.

SCALING IMPACT
The DWLBL model is designed to scale.
As more communities are built, the impact multiplies.

THE FIRST COMMUNITY — SENEGAL
Phioneers is preparing to launch the first DWLBL community cluster in Senegal.
This pilot will demonstrate how climate-smart housing can be delivered using local materials, renewable energy systems, and community participation.
The project will serve as a proof of concept for scaling sustainable communities across Africa.
